Board & Train Program
-
A board and train program is where your dog stays at my home for a set period of time—usually ranging from 2 to 6 weeks —while receiving daily, structured training. During this time, I work extensively with your dog on obedience, manners, desensitization, and/or socialization.
-
Immersive Environment: Your dog lives at my home, allowing for consistent, daily training in a structured setting. This often accelerates learning compared to once-a-week sessions.
Hands-Off for the Owner (Initially): Unlike private lessons where you’re actively involved from day one, I do most of the initial work to set a great foundation for your dog. You’ll be brought in later to learn how to maintain the results.
Faster Progress: Since your dog is being trained multiple times per day, progress tends to happen more quickly, especially for foundational obedience or behavior modification.
Ideal for Busy Owners: If you don’t have the time to consistently train your dog yourself, a board and train program gives you a professional jumpstart.
-
Reliable basic obedience (sit, stay, come, down, wait, leave it and place)
Improved leash manners (no pulling, walking calmly beside you)
Reduced problem behaviors (jumping, barking, chewing, counter-surfing)
Better focus and impulse control
Consistency responding to commands in different environments

My board and train program is very regimented. Your dog will have a consistent routine every day. Here is a rundown of how our typical day will go:
We wake up in the morning and have our breakfast dished out by hand during our first training session. I mainly use your dog’s kibble for reward inside the home, but some treats may also be mixed in to help with motivation! After we get a good lesson in, we go out in the backyard and release some energy, and your pup has time to just be a dog! After we are good and worn out, they head back into their crate accompanied by a yummy treat that will occupy their time such as a stuffed Kong or bully stick. If your dog is not a huge fan of their crate currently, they will learn to love their crate here. Crate training is part of the process!
The routine mentioned above is repeated multiple times throughout the day. Downtime, training session, physical exertion to burn off some more energy and back to resting up and relaxing to prepare for the next round of fun and learning!
